DAIKI
All my life, I’ve lived by imitating someone I was drawn to at the time. I feel incredibly dark and empty inside. So when there’s no one to mimic, I become deeply anxious. The same goes for my artwork. Every dot, every line I draw is accompanied by the question: “What should I do?” Do I even have a style of my own? I can’t see it. And yet, strangely enough, no matter what subject I draw—or even when I take on anonymous commercial work— there are fans who ask, “Isn’t this your artwork?” It really is amazing. Maybe… is it okay for me to have a little confidence in myself?
